Asteroid passes with 4 million miles of earth

UNDATED (WHDH) -- The supposed ‘end of the world’ date -- according to the Mayan calendar -- is December 21st of 2012. Ironically, an asteroid just missed the earth.

The 3-mile wide asteroid flew past the earth at over 24,000 miles per hour according to NASA.

It was within 4 million miles of our planet and was expected to pass by again at some point Wednesday.
