WPI graduate invents date-rape drug detector

UNDATED (WHDH) -- A WPI graduate invented a new way to detect date-rape drugs in drinks.

The graduate of Worcester Poly-technic Institute created plastic straws, cups and stirrers that change color when a drink is laced with drugs.

He was inspired to invent the special products after a bad incident with a spiked drink.

The products have not yet been launched.
