YouTube video helps ROTC student get dream date

UNDATED (WHDH) -- An ROTC student at Texas Tech is taking the reigning Miss Texas to his military ball.

The date was arranged thanks to a YouTube video.

"Hello, miss Texas. My name is Luke Guffey. Look at yourself, now look at me. Now back at yourself, now back to me. Sadly, you aren't me but you could be with me this Saturday at the military ball,” Guffey said in the video.

Luke Guffey's video was a spoof of the old spice commercials.

Miss Texas 2012, Danae Couch, gave her answer to Guffey live on the evening news.

"Actually, as of right now, I will be making the trip to Lubbock, so Luke, get ready to get excited, because I will be able to meet you at the Overton," said Couch.

Guffey and his friends celebrated once they heard Couch's answer.

Both Couch and Guffey are now looking forward to this weekend.

"I was first really impressed that someone would take the time to ask me to any event with a video,” said Couch.

"I did not think this was going to happen,” said Guffey.

Guffey joked that after the ball, he is going to celebrate by going to Disney World.

He said Couch was also invited to Orlando as well.
