Casey Anthony speaks out in YouTube video

Casey Anthony is speaking out for the first time since being acquitted of murdering her daughter.

Call it Casey’s confessional.

“I don’t know whether to look directly at myself or to look up or -- it’s a little scary because I hate being on camera,” Anthony says.

Casey Anthony is being seen and heard for the first time since being cleared of charges in the death of her young daughter Caylee last summer. In the nearly four and a half minute video, the 25-year-old never directly mentions Caylee, her parents or her high-profile murder trial. At times she seems at a loss for words, taking stock of the dramatic reversal in her young life.

“It’s just a little surreal how much things have changed since July, and how many things haven’t changed,” she says. “But the good thing is that things are starting to look up and things are starting to change in a good way.”

Casey, who says on the video that the recording took place in October, has been hiding since she was released from prison in July. Sporting shorter blond locks, Casey provides few details about where she is as she serves her probation at an undisclosed Florida location.

In the video, Anthony makes reference to an additional video and tapes, so there could be more to come.
