Girl forced to wear sign about stealing at school

SWANSEA, Mo. (WHDH) -- “I like to steal from others and lie about it.”

That’s what was written on a sign a young girl in Missouri was forced to wear. Her dad says it was to teach her a lesson, but school officials said it went too far when she tried to wear the sign to class.

Montrail White said his daughter, 8-year-old Amiyah, has taken things from her teacher and from home. He said they tried different ways of disciplining her, but it wasn’t working.

The superintendent doesn’t question White’s right to discipline his daughter, but says it caused too much of a scene in the school’s busy parking lot.
