UNDATED (WHDH) -- A boy in Kansas helped stopped a robber who was eyeing his mother’s purse.

“I grabbed it to try to get it so he wouldn’t take it,” said Cade Hall.

Eight-year-old Cade was playing games on his computer next to his mother’s purse on the couch when he says a man entered their house.

“When I seen his face I was like, ‘That’s nobody I’ve ever seen before,’” said Cade.

With a shirt pulled over his head, the suspect grabbed the purse.

“He came in, yanked on it and I yanked back and he yanked harder, and he ran out the door,” said Cade.

Cade yelled out for his mother and father.

“At the second mom screamed we realized something really is wrong so we take off running,” said William Hall.

Cade’s dog Rosco was the first one out the door.

“My mom saw our dog…biting this guy so my mom knew it was a bad guy,” said Cade.

Cade’s father, William, took off running after the suspect in bare feet. He saw the suspect pull out his wife’s wallet and drop the purse on the street.

“And I stopped the lady in the car and told her call 911,” William Hall said.

William Hall chased the suspect down an embankment.

“He ran out into the middle of 135 and boom,” William Hall said. “I’m very proud of my son but like the officer told him, ‘Next time just let him take it.”

The suspect is in the hospital with several broken bones.
