Girl designs soda can tab dress for her junior prom

DENVER (WHDH) -- A Colorado teenager spent two years planning the perfect prom night -- complete with a one-of-a-kind dress.
The girl made the dress herself using more than 5,000 soda tabs.
When you talk about prom, it’s as much about preparations as it is about what you’re wearing.
That’s why Regan Kerr decided to make her own dress.
“It suddenly hit me about, I don’t know, maybe two weeks ago, that it was actually going to get done,” said Kerr.
The high school junior made her own dress using 5,114 soda tabs. She started collecting them two years ago after a friend suggested it to her. It took her five months to complete the dress.
Ragan said she initially wanted a strapless dress, but had to add straps because the tabs proved heavier than expected.
