10 injured in NYC school bus crash after police-involved pursuit
NEW YORK -- Two adults and eight children suffered minor injuries Tuesday after a man driving a stolen car crashed into a school bus, police said.
The incident started about 2:30 p.m. when a police cruiser spotted the stolen car in Queens and pursued it, police said.
The driver of the car tried to overtake the school bus in an attempt to escape, striking the bus in the rear and causing it to flip over, according to police.
Shortly after the crash, the driver of the stolen car hopped out and tried to evade officers on foot but was captured.
Charges are pending against the driver of the stolen Nissan Murano, who was not identified, police said.
All the injured were taken to local hospitals.
