MIAMI BEACH, Fla. -- Police are searching for a pair of suspects who robbed a Brinks truck outside of a Walgreens in broad daylight Wednesday morning.

The truck was parked outside of a Walgreens located at 4049 Pine Tree Drive. Police report that the suspects removed the Brinks employee's gun from his holster and fled the scene with the stolen items.

According to police, the robbery involved two Latin men who held the driver of the Brinks truck at gunpoint then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash along with the truck driver's .38 caliber. The thieves then took off through a back exit.

"So far what we know is that they're two Latin males that look very similar in appearance, they might be brothers or related," said Bobby Hernandez of Miami Beach Police. "They were wearing dark clothing, they had goatees and they're between 40 and 50 years of age.

Residents and business owners are concerned about the recent crime activity that has took place in the area. "I have a business on the block, I'm very concerned because this is the third or fourth armed robbery that's taken place in last couple of months over here," said one business owner.

Authorities say a gray truck may have served as the getaway vehicle. They will continue to investigate and are going to review surveillance tape.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
