UNDATED (WHDH) -- A New York mother is accused of hiring strippers for her son's 16th birthday party.

Now she's facing child endangerment charges for inviting those entertainers.

Police say 33-year-old Judy Viger organized, managed, and paid for quite the birthday celebration for her 16-year-old son.

She is accused of hiring and introducing two female strippers to perform personal and intimate dances for party goers at a bowling center back in November.

Police say five people in attendance were under the age of 17.

Viger has now been charged with five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The bowling center had no comment regarding the incident and just how strippers were allowed inside. A man claiming to be a friend of the accused said that police have it all wrong, that's not what happened, but he would not go on camera or elaborate.

For parents like Bob Carpenter, he says, it's an important reminder to pay close attention to those around your children.

"I guess you probably would have to make sure that you knew who your kid was going with and know about the parents before you send them to a birthday party," carpenter said.

Police said they do not expect any further arrests.
