Parents get eerie text from missing teen's phone
QUEENS, New York (WHDH) -- The family of a missing woman from Queens, New York is concerned for her safety after receiving a chilling text message sent from her phone.
Rajwinder Kaur left her home Sunday night to volunteer at a homeless shelter. The family received an eerie text reading:
"The girl with this phone is dead."
"We are very nervous, we are scared. I know Raji. She will never send a message like that,” said Kulwinder Bhinder, the brother-in-law of the missing woman.
Kaur is a former social worker who recently became involved in volunteering at shelters. Sources within the NYPD have told local media that Kaur sold some of her belongings on e-bay and may have joined a cult.
Her family says they don't believe that theory.
