Developer wants to build ferris wheel on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (WHDH) -- Despite the damage from the storm, a developer still wants to build the world's largest Ferris wheel on Staten Island.

The 625-foot tall ride is part of a $500million development plan, which also includes a mall and a hotel.

Critics questioned whether it makes sense to push ahead with such a large tourist attraction in a flood zone, but supporters said Staten Island needs the boost now more than ever.
