Woman who screamed at judge back in court
MIAMI (WHDH) -- The woman who broke out in a passionate plea to a Miami judge returned to court Tuesday to face the same judge. This time she was much calmer.
Blanca Regalado, who faces charges of attempted second-degree murder was much quieter in bond court Tuesday after her outburst in court Monday morning.
Miami Police said Regalado stabbed her husband on the 42nd floor of a high-rise apartment building early Saturday morning.
In court on Monday, she hysterically told the judge she was the victim of domestic violence. "My husband broke my leg! Please, no, don't do that!" screamed Regalado.
Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat is no stranger to courtroom drama. He is the same judge who sentenced 18-year-old Penelope Soto to 30 days in the county jail after she flipped him off and dropped the f-bomb in his courtroom.
However, Regalado's charges are much more serious.
Judge Rodriguez-Chomat told Regalado, "The reason you were brought before me is because you have been charged by the police with a very serious crime."
Now, the question remains, was she trying to kill her husband or protect herself? These are questions her attorney said will be addressed at a later date. "I'm not going to make any comments regarding what the case may consist of and what it may not consist of," said Defense Attorney Patricia Jones.
Regalado is still in the Miami-Dade jail being held without bond. Her attorney said they will try to set a hearing to have a bond set.
