MIAMI (WHDH) -- A crook smashed his way into a South Florida grocery store through the roof before stealing items and leaving a big mess for owners to clean up.
Surveillance video caught the thief with his feet dangling through the roof of Joysi Food Market along Northwest 40th Street and 17th Avenue in Miami.
The crook managed to bust his way into the grocery store, late Saturday night, right after the store had closed.
The man can be seen on camera going after various items in the store including lotto tickets. "The $20 tickets, the $10 tickets, the $5 tickets. The most valuable tickets are the ones he took," said store manager Shemika Rambo. "All is gone."
Rambo said the man also stole quarters from a machine, cigarettes and even had a beer. "The economy is kind of rough, and maybe that's the reason; I don't know," she said. "We need to come together and get this person arrested."
According to Rambo, the store has been burglarized before. Now, her biggest worry is fixing the roof. "We have to fix the roof and people don't understand why we have to go up in prices, and this is the reason why. Because we get robbed, and we're not making that much money," she said.
It remains unknown if this burglar has any connection to those burglaries in the past.
