MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (WHDH) -- Authorities and Miami Shores residents are trying to figure out how a UPS truck ended up in Biscayne Bay Tuesday morning.

The UPS truck sitting in the bay has became a big attraction this afternoon. "I came to watch my kids during sailing camp, and I actually thought they were filming a scene here," said one woman.

Another woman who lives nearby was amazed and confused with the scene. "I saw it from my backyard over on 101st Street and I couldn't believe I saw UPS, so I went to get my neighbors and they all came over," she said.

According to police, the UPS truck hit a tree on Northeast 12 Avenue and 96 Street before ending up in the bay. "Right now we are trying to determine if was a vehicle malfunction or driver error but anyone looking for the packages from this driver today, probably not going to see them," said Miami Shores Police Chief Kevin Lystad.

Divers are trying to hook up a line from a tow truck to get the delivery truck out of the water.
