UNDATED (WHDH) -- A Tennessee man is truly the "biggest loser" in his community and now he's trying to help others.
Once morbidly obese, weighing more than 430 pounds, Richard Neal is now the picture of fitness thanks to his weight loss coach.
When Richard Neal stepped on the scale he weighed 437 pounds, morbidly obese, chasing death.
"My doctor told me, 'Richard you're not going to live. You're not going to see your 30th birthday. 'Knowing I wasn't going to see my 30th birthday, knowing I wasn't able to have any kids because of me being obese, I gave up on my life."
Today, Richard weighs 187 pounds, attributing his weight loss to the P90X workout routine. Every night Neal worked out to the P90X DVDs, recalling it to be "brutal, it was more than hard."
His remarkable transformation caught the attention of Beachbody, the company that produces the P90X DVDs, which dubbed Neal the "Grand Champion" of the National Workout Challenge, rewarding him with a check for $100,000.
Richard Neal now has a 3-month-old son, and spends his free time encouraging others to lose weight and ultimately change their lives.
"Knowing that I can make a change and try to help somebody help them change their lives. It's the most fulfilling thing in the world," said Neal.
