PORT ST. LUCIE, Fl. (WHDH) -- A Florida teen is accused of pretending to be a police officer, in order to help his friend steal from Wal-mart.

Police said the 17-year-old walked into the store with a badge and a pellet gun.

They said he told the store manager he was a police officer and then arrested his friend for shoplifting.

He even put the cuffs on him in the parking lot but the store manager didn't believe him and called the cops.

"Their whole plot was to make it look like he was arresting him so they wouldn't get caught for the shoplifting,”

The teen faces a felony charge of impersonating a police officer.

He said he made a stupid decision but there was no plot and that it was just a trip to the store that got out of control.

The other teen was also arrested.
