COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WHDH) -- Two young girls gave up their birthday parties to raise money for a schoolmate suffering from leukemia.
Caden Goodrich, 6, says he wants to be a UFC fighter when he grows up. But he’s already a fighter -- he’s been battling leukemia since June.
Caden, along with his parents, has been making the weekly trips to the children’s hospital for his treatments. The trips are not only exhausting, but they are expensive.
Amanda Willis and her two daughters, Jasie, 9, and Josie, 7, decided to help.
In 2007, Jasie was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in her eye. She has since recovered, but when she heard about Caden she wanted to help. Jasie and her sister decided to give up their birthday parties to raise money for Caden and his family.
The girls are not throwing a “pay it forward birthday celebration” which has turned into a community event. The event will be held on Friday.
