Naked man holds robber at gun point until police arrive
ST. GEORGE, UT (WHDH) -- An alleged criminal was caught off guard when he broke into a Utah home this week.
He found a man with a gun pointed right at him ... But that wasn't the only surprise a brave homeowner had for this unsuspecting suspect.
Turns out he was baring it all as he protected his house.
Eric Martin stirred out of bed after hearing a noise inside his home. He grabbed his handgun and took off for the main living area. He found Clinton Keller with his hands full of his stuff.
"There are just so many things that we don't know that could have happened,” said Martin.
Martin chased Keller out of the house. The suspect tripped and fell. The homeowner held him at gunpoint while his girlfriend called police.
"And I was very clear that if he moved, I would use deadly force,” said Martin.
When police arrived, they said martin handled the situation perfectly. They arrested Keller and took him to jail. And it all happened as martin stayed behind a wall for two reasons: to keep himself covered in case the suspect had a gun and because he wasn't covered at all.
"Kept my body covered because I came out of the bedroom completely naked,” said Martin.
That's right, Martin had come out of his room as naked as the day he was born.
"That's probably the only time that one can be naked in public, obviously outside and not get in trouble for indecent exposure,” said Martin.
He jokes now, but says it's something he can only do because of the good outcome.
It turns out, it was a good idea Martin hid behind that wall. The suspect did have a weapon. He's now facing several charges.
