Strip shooting-crash suspect due in Vegas court
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A self-described pimp accused of killing three people in a shooting and fiery crash on the Las Vegas Strip is due for his first appearance in a Las Vegas courtroom.
A judge is expected to appoint a lawyer Wednesday to represent 27-year-old Ammar Harris.
He was booked early Tuesday into the Clark County jail after his transfer in tight police custody from Los Angeles.
Harris is accused of firing fatal shots early Feb. 21 at the driver of a Maserati sports car that then slammed into a taxi, killing the cab driver and a tourist from Washington state. Five other people were injured.
He was arrested a week later in Los Angeles after an intense manhunt.
