Ducks tie up traffic on freeway
UNDATED (WHDH) -- A mother duck and her three ducklings tied up traffic near Seattle and cameras rolled during their dangerous trip.
The wayward ducks are safe, thanks to some Good Samaritans. But those ducks brought a busy highway to a standstill.
405 northbound traffic was stopped cold. All in a day's work for the state patrol, sworn to serve and protect.
The officer was trying to corral a mom and three ducklings. Finally he waved for traffic to pass, and provided a rolling shield.
Finally the state patrol has other business, and the duck family was on its own until this Good Samaritan pulled over -- and after a bit of a chase, managed to nab a duckling with his coat and put it in his car.
then the duck hunt continued and he got another as more help arrived on the scene.
But at that point, the last two make a dash for freedom, waddling across traffic and the chase continued. Until a human had it.
But just a minute later, Good Samaritan number two pulled over. Pretty soon there were three people waving two coats at two ducks.
Finally the last little duck was nabbed and dropped over the barrier to safety. The spotlight was on an adult duck flying off -- concluding another nightmare commute on 405.
