PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Three Portland police officers were injured in a fight Thursday, arresting an erratic man for the second time in two days in which officers used a Taser on him multiple times with little effect.
One officer was hospitalized with a leg injury after 45-year-old Charles Arthur Freeman was finally subdued in southeast Portland.
The Oregonian reports he left a hospital wearing only a hospital gown or bedsheet. He reportedly tried to carjack a van before officers tried to take him into custody. He withstood multiple jolts from a stun gun and fought with three officers who finally subdued him and took him to a hospital.
He also fought with officers and was jolted with a Taser multiple times on Wednesday in Gresham when officers arrested him for public indecency.
