Obama speaks at Disabled American Veterans convention
ORLANDO, Fla. (WHDH) -- President Obama and First Lady Michelle praised veterans and pledged support, for them and their families at the Disabled American Veterans National Convention.
The president and first lady spoke about efforts to increase employment and educational opportunities, and gave words of encouragement for those wounded in war.
"I think of the wounded warrior that spoke for many of you when he said, your life will never be the same, but that doesn't mean that you can't go on to do amazing things with the second chance you were given," President Obama said.
The president also spoke of the work that still needs to be done, to cut the back-log of claims for veterans.
