DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit Mayor Dave Bing is back city hall following his recovery from surgery.
The 68-year-old Bing returned to the office on Monday morning as expected. He's scheduled to appear at several events this week after taking part in a Sunday charity walk in Detroit.
Bing had surgery for a perforated intestine in late March and then returned to the hospital on April 4 because of blood clots in his lungs.
Bing's health problems occurred while the city and the state of Michigan were working on a deal to fix Detroit's finances.
The pact calls for a chief financial officer, a program manager and a nine-member board to oversee spending.
