2 former Dem mayors back Brown for Mass. Senate
BOSTON (AP) -- Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is touting support from two former Democratic mayors in his bid for re-election.
Brown held events on Monday with former Boston Mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn, and former Worcester Mayor Konstantina Lukes.
Flynn had previously signaled his support for Brown.
The Massachusetts Democratic party said in a statement that it was not surprised by the endorsements because Flynn and Lukes are registered Democrats who "regularly support Republican candidates and Republican policies."
Brown's likely Democratic opponent in November is Harvard Law School professor Elizabeth Warren.
