UNDATED (WHDH) -- President Obama’s campaign will be the first presidential campaign to accept donations via text message.
The program will be available at the end of August for customers of several wireless carriers including Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.
Donations will be charged to a contributor's wireless bill.
They will be capped at $50 a month per candidate, and $200 an election cycle.
Mitt Romney’s campaign also plans to begin accepting text donations soon.
