NH voters nominating governor
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- Voters will nominate gubernatorial and congressional candidates in New Hampshire's state primary Tuesday and for the first time in eight years, Democratic incumbent Gov. John Lynch's name is not on the ballot.
Business lawyer Ovide Lamontagne, consultant Kevin Smith and unemployed store manager Robert Tarr are on the GOP gubernatorial ballot. Business professor Jackie Cilley, business lawyer Maggie Hassan and inn owner Bill Kennedy seek the Democratic nomination.
In congressional races, Republican incumbent Frank Guinta faces two challengers in his bid for a second term representing the 1st District. Republican Charles Bass faces four primary challengers in the 2nd District.
Former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter is uncontested in the 1st District Democratic primary. Ann McLane Kuster has no opposition in the 2nd District Democratic primary.
