BOSTON (AP) -- Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Daniel Winslow's income has jumped in the years since he resigned as former Gov. Mitt Romney's legal counsel.

According to his tax returns, Winslow reported about $120,000 in adjusted gross income in 2004, when he was still serving as the Romney administration's top lawyer.

By 2010, Winslow's income had soared to nearly $515,000.

The increase came after Winslow, a former judge and lawyer, took a job with as a partner with the law firm of Duane Morris. Among his clients was fellow Republican Scott Brown's 2010 campaign for the US Senate.

Winslow left Duane Morris to launch a successful run for the Massachusetts House in 2010.

Winslow later took a job as senior counsel with law firm of Proskauer Rose. Winslow resigned from that job to run for Senate.
