Gabriel Gomez has harsh words for Ed Markey
BOSTON (WHDH) -- The race for senate took an ugly turn. Republican senate candidate Gabriel Gomez had harsh words for Democratic Congressman Ed Markey.
In an interview, Gabriel Gomez had some choice words for Ed Markey, specifically in reaction to Markey’s new online video, which among other things, has a picture of Gomez next to Osama bin Laden.
Gomez was a Navy Seal and made his feelings known during an interview.
He said he didn't appreciate the symbolism and told a reporter seconds later, on Markey, “for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to be put up next to Bin Laden? Just gotta be called what he is."
The Markey campaign released a statement saying in part, “Gabriel Gomez has reached a new low. Unfortunately for Gomez, his desperate attack will do nothing to distract from his opposition to an assault weapons ban ... Or his refusal to release his 2005 tax return.”
"I'm surprised it's controversial. Pond scum is more popular than Congress."
The special election between the two takes place on June 25th.
