Sen. Clark running for Markey's vacant seat
BOSTON (WHDH) -- State Senator Katherine Clark is in the running for Edward Markey’s vacant seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Melrose Democrat was also endorsed by Attorney General Martha Coakley. Clark is one of five declared Democratic contenders for the special election to fill the seat Markey left to become U.S. Senator.
“The bottom line is the issues that you and I talk about around our kitchen tables need to be the same issues on the table in Congress,” said Clark.
Earlier in her career, she served as the policy division chief in Coakley’s office. The primary election will be held October 15.
