Scott Brown announces he won't run for gov. in 2014
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Former Republican Senator Scott Brown announced Wednesday night he will not be running for governor in 2014.
He announced the news on his Facebook page and wrote: “Running for office takes a lot of thought, analysis, money, and sometimes, personal sacrifice. Tonight I announced that I will not be running for Governor of MA in 2014.” He went on to say, “I have been fortunate to have private sector opportunities that I find fulfilling and exhilarating. These new opportunities have allowed me to grow personally and professionally. I want to continue with that process.”
That ends speculation that’s been ongoing since Brown lost his Senate seat. But this may not signal the end of politics for him. Just this past weekend, he and his wife traveled to Iowa, fueling talks he was exploring a possible presidential run in 2016.
Brown was also reportedly considering a Senate run in New Hampshire. He has a house there and some believe it might be an easier win than running in the more Democrat-heavy Massachusetts.
