Tisei eyes 2nd run for Congress in Mass.
WAKEFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- Former state Sen. Richard Tisei (TIH'-say) has taken a step toward another potential run for the U.S. House.
The Republican from Wakefield announced on Monday that he had formed a congressional committee and filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.
Tisei lost a close race last year in the state's 6th congressional district to incumbent Democratic Rep. John Tierney.
In a statement, Tisei said formation of the committee would allow him to actively explore a run for the seat in 2014. He said he hoped to make a formal announcement about his plans before the winter.
Tisei served in the Legislature for 26 years and was the Republican nominee for lieutenant governor in 2010.
