Elizabeth Childs is a Republican candidate for U.S. Representative in the 4th Congressional District.

Elizabeth Childs has been a resident of Brookline for over 20 years. She and her husband Ralph Grieco, a retired Navy and Navy Reserve veteran, have two young children who attend Brookline Public Schools.

Childs owns and operates a successful medical practice in Brookline. She and her family have traveled extensively across North America including weeks spent camping in the Alaskan wilderness.

Childs graduated from Mount Holyoke College and the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine.

After graduating, Child became Chief Resident in Adult Psychiatry at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center where she completed her fellowship in Child Psychiatry.

In April of 2003, Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney appointed Childs to serve as Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Health.

In 2006, Childs was recognized with an appointment by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services to the National Advisory Mental Health Council of the National Institutes of Mental Health.

Childs left her post as Commissioner of Mental Health in 2007 to pursue an MPA at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Child served as an elected member of the Brookline School Committee since 2009 ad Brookline Town Meeting since 2010.

Child was appointed by Romney in 2005 and reappointed to Governor Deval Patrick in 2010 to serve as a member of the Board of Early Education and Care.
