Sam Sutter is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in Massachusetts 9th district.

Sam Sutter was born in Connecticut on Aug. 3, 1952. He grew up on Cape Cod and currently resides in Fall River. Sutter is currently the district attorney for Bristol County.

He attended college at Brown University and graduated in 1976. After graduation, he spent several years playing professional tennis abroad. He returned to the United States to attend law school at Vanderbilt University and graduated in 1983.

He lived and practiced law for eight years on Cape Cod before joining the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney in 1991. He was elected Bristol County District Attorney in 2006 and has worked to reduce illegal gun violence that has plagued Bristol County.

He is married to Dorothy Feliz Sutter and has three children: Cliff, Alex, and Ava.

If elected, Sutter has said he will work to “to do something about the gridlock at the Bourne and Sagamore bridges,” and “stimulate our local economies and create jobs for thousands of people who are out of work.”
