Bill Keating is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives in Massachusetts 9th district.

Bill Keating is currently the U.S. Representative for Massachusetts’ 10th congressional district.

Keating was born Sept. 6, 1952 in Norwood to parents William and Anna Keating. He grew up in Norwood and graduated from Sharon High School. Keating attended Boston College and went on to Suffolk Law School.

Keating served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives where he represented the 19th Norfolk district from 1977 to 1978 and the 8th Norfolk district from 1979 to 1984. He became a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association in 1985 -- the same year he was elected to the Massachusetts State Senate where he represented the Norfolk and Suffolk district from 1985 until 1988.

He has also represented the Bristol and Plymouth districts. In 1994 he challenged William Bulger for his Senate seat but lost. Keating said his priorities are to “protect and strengthen Massachusetts’ families, improve our local economy, increase educational opportunities, provide our seniors and veterans with the resources they need and deserve, safeguard the State’s unique ecosystem and keep our community and country safe.”
