WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) -- The Massachusetts Senate race returned to the campaign trail following a fiery debate Monday night.

On Tuesday, Scott Brown received a big endorsement from Bob Cousy, the legendary Boston Celtic’s point guard.

“I’ve been an independent all my life -- my wife and I both -- from the old school. Work hard, save your money, never buy anything you can’t afford,” said Cousy.

Senator Brown stood with Cousy in front of the legend’s statue at Holy Cross before going inside to shoot hoops on the basketball court. Brown also took shots at Elizabeth Warren’s claims of working for the little guy.

“Only one person is representing corporate interests here, and is with the corporations and millionaires and billionaires and that’s Professor Warren. It’s kind of laughable,” said Brown on Tuesday.

Brown said he is the guy who can bridge the gap between extreme republicans and extreme democrats.

On Tuesday Brown said he doesn’t regret his sharp tongue during Monday night’s debate.

7News contacting Warren’s campaign, who said she didn’t have any public appearances scheduled for Tuesday.
