SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) -- It was a haunting night on the campaign trail Wednesday. Local politicians with Halloween spirit passed out treats -- not tricks -- to costumed kids.
7News spent some time with Senator Scott Brown and his Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren Wednesday night as they took a break from the campaign trail.
Elizabeth Warren handed out delicious treats to some trick-or-treaters.
“We’ve got M&M’s, Butterfingers, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and all the sugar your heart could desire,” Warren told 7News.
She even had Mitt Romney show up at her door hoping for a treat.
“I’m just having fun out here tonight. I love Halloween. I love the little ones and I love the big ones. As long as they're in costume, come on down. We got sugar for them,” said Warren.
As trick-or-treaters all dressed up made their rounds, down in Wrentham Senator Scott Brown also dished out some sugar -- with a twist.
“Gail and I went to Hebert’s in Shrewsbury and we got some Boo Bars, so we’re giving out Boo Bars. And we also got for the kids…we have some coloring books,” said Sen. Brown.
Super Mario showed up to get his share.
His children may be all grown, but Sen. Brown still loves Halloween.
“I actually made sure that we were home together to do this, ‘cause it's a tradition. People like to come ‘cause they like to come,” Sen. Brown said.
All treats Wednesday night, but Thursday morning it’s back to campaigning.
