Married to Farrah...Graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma, WA, where he was a 3-time MVP and 3-time All-Area selection...Named Gatorade State Player of the Year for Washington in 2000...Received the 2007 Tony Conigliaro Award for overcoming adversity...Given the 2008 Hutch Award by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in a ceremony at Safeco Field in Seattle on 1/21/09...The award was established in 1965 to honor baseball great Fred Hutchinson, who died of cancer the previous year at age 45...The award is given annually to a Major League Baseball player who best exemplifies "Hutch's" fighting spirit and competitive desire.
