Biography 

In 1997 graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village, COL, the same school attended by Major Leaguers David Aardsma and Brad Lidge...As a junior and senior was a first-team high school All-American and as a senior was Baseball America's High School Player of the Year...In his last 3 years led Cherry Creek High to 3 state titles in football and to 3 state titles in baseball...Rated by Baseball America as the best high school position player in the 1997 First-Year Player Draft...Recruited by the University of Texas to play football and baseball but chose to play professional baseball...His brother, Donzell, played in the Majors for the Yankees (2001) and Royals (2002).
