BOSTON -- Despite new additions to the Red Sox outfield, Jason Bay may still return to the team.

Sources say Bay and his agent are open to reopening talks with the Red Sox, and one report from the New York Daily News suggested Bay desperately wants to be back in Boston for the 2010 season.

The Red Sox have offered Bay a $60 million deal. So far, only the New York Mets have presented a more lucrative offer.

One report suggests the Red Sox may expand the team budget.

Yet there still may not be room for Bay, even if he does drop his asking price. The team has committed $14 million to J.D. Drew, $7.5 million to mike Cameron and $2.25 million to Jeremy Hermida.

Next season, Jacoby Ellsbury stands to make $449,500, which is the league minimum for a player with his amount of service time.
