Tampa Bay Rays apologize for mascot photo op
TAMPA, Fl. (WHDH) -- The Tampa Bay Rays are apologizing for the actions of the team's mascot.
Raymond, as he's called was seen holding up a sign that read, “Rays To-Do List,” featuring a picture of Steve Irwin.
Irwin, a wildlife expert, known as the crocodile hunter, was killed by a sting ray.
The sign belonged to a fan and the mascot held it up for a photo-op.
The picture went viral and the team issued a statement apologizing for the lapse in judgment.
