Star BU hockey player kicked off team after arrest
BOSTON -- A Boston University hockey star was kicked off the team after his arrest on charges that he groped and tried to kiss a female student.
BU police said after drinking heavily Corey Trivino, 21, sexually assaulted the victim. Police said Trivino kissed the victim and groped her breast, even though she kept saying that he needed to stop.
Trivino was released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty Monday to seven charges that included indecent assault and battery and assault to rape. A judge ordered Trivino to move out of the dorm and surrender his passport.
He is still a student at BU, but an internal investigation of the woman’s allegations could result in his expulsion.
Trivino is the leading goal-scorer in Hockey East, with 13 in 15 games. On Tuesday, BU coach Jack Parker said 21-year-old Trivino was "no longer associated" with the No.9-ranked team.
