BOSTON -- Friday was the 10th anniversary of the Patriots first Super Bowl win. Since then, New Englanders have been living in the golden age of Boston sports and the Patriots are looking to add another chapter to Boston’s amazing decade of dominance.

Between the four major sports teams in Boston, there have been seven championship titles in the last ten years.

“I have a son who is 15-years-old and he’s seen the Patriots win, the Celtics win, the Bruins win and the Red Sox win and I told him, that’s not how it works, I spent most of my life waiting for the Patriots to get to the playoffs,” said Jackie MacMullen of ESPN.

Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, said the teams owe a lot of their success to the fans.

“We get great support, you know, better than any place that I could ever imagine playing so hopefully we give them a lot of reasons to celebrate this weekend. We’re going to go out there and give everything we got,” said Tom Brady.

The iconic, celebratory Duck Boat parades through Boston have become as familiar as clam chowder to Bostonians.

In the last decade, the Patriots have won three Super Bowls, the Red Sox won two World Series, the Celtics captured a world championship and the Boston Bruins won their first Stanley Cup in 39 years.

No city has sprayed so much champagne in so few seasons.

For the community, the bond and sense of pride between citizens and sports teams grows deeper with each victory.

“I’ve been to every parade in the last 10 years and followed the Duck Boats and it’s great,” said Susan Hanna, a Boston sports fan.

“Boston is the beacon of sports right now but I’m just loving every day, I don’t take it for granted at all. When the Pats were winning all those Super Bowls back in 2001, 2003, 2004, I kind of took it for granted that it was going to happen all the time and then when they didn’t win for a while you want to get that championship mode back,” said Christian Tirella, another fan.

It’s easy and more fun to focus on seven titles in a decade then to remember the countless years of defeat, but some fans in Boston may have a lack of perspective.

“It’s going to end one day, hopefully it doesn’t end too soon but it’s life. You have to deal with the achievements as well as your failures,” said Kevin Faulk, Patriots running back.

“It can spoil a community quick but if you have a community that can get spoiled, I want it to be here and I think the more we keep piling them up, the happier they will be and I’m fine with that,” said Vince Wilfork, Patriots defensive lineman.

The Patriots are the Boston team with the longest championship drought at a whopping 7 years.
