Coach assaults referee at youth football match
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A fight breaks out at a youth football game after a coach charges a referee.
The incident happened in California when the coach watched the ref push his son as he tried to stop a scuffle between kids. Outraged, he stormed the field and started screaming at the referee.
Some members of the coach's staff helped to hold him back, but the damage was done. And now, that coach is suspended.
Some parents are outraged the coach was suspended, saying it only hurts the players.
Policies from the youth football league do state referees may not touch players.
