Yankees-Red Sox rivalry heats up this weekend

BOSTON -- The Tampa Bay Rays may be the hot team in the AL East but that doesn't mean the Red Sox-Yankees rivalry has lost any of its luster.

The Bronx Bombers visit Fenway Park tonight for the first of three games this weekend between the archrivals. The Yankees are winners of six straight, while the Red Sox are coming off a three-game sweep of the Mariners.

Josh Beckett takes the mound for Boston against New York's Joba Chamberlain tonight.

The Red Sox are tied with the Rays for the division lead. The Yanks are three games back.

Boston should get a boost with the expected return of David Ortiz to the lineup.

Ortiz has missed nearly two months with a left wrist injury, but has looked sharp in a six-game rehab stint in the minors.
