BOSTON -- A young Red Sox fan's wish came true Sunday night.

Not only did six-year-old Jacob Phillips have tickets to game 3 of the ALDS, but he also got to meet his favorite team.

Phillips was one of the thousands of fans waiting to see the Red Sox arrive at Fenway when David Ortiz picked him out of the crowd.

"He said, well, Big Papi would like to meet you, and his mouth just dropped," said Keith Phillips, Jacob's father.

It was a special surprise for the six-year-old who suffers from the painful neurological disorder Spina Bifida.

"I met Julio Lugo; I met Dice-K Matsuzaka; oh man, it was awesome," Jacob said.

After Jacob met his favorite players, they invited him and his dad to come inside Fenway Park before the gates opened to watch the team warm up.

Players also autographed his hat, gave him balls, batting gloves and bats.

It was a day Jacob and his dad will never forget.

"Well they're my heroes...the whole team is my hero," Jacob said. "It was a dream come true."
