Bruins honor bombing survivor Jeff Bauman
BOSTON (WHDH) -- Jeff Bauman, who lost both legs in the Boston Marathon bombings, went on the ice in a wheelchair before the Bruins game against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday night.
Bauman smiled, pumped his fist and waved a big Bruins flag while wearing the team's jersey during the opening ceremony.
“It was just a really nice piece for a guy who really deserves it,” one man said.
“I think it’s really great. It just shows how Boston can come together in light of a really tragic event; how we can be positive and move forward,” a woman said.
Police say the Chelmsford native was vital in their investigation. And despite his injuries, Bauman persevered.
Many people have donated to the Jeff Bauman Foundation to help him and his family.
