Captain Zdeno Chara coming up big for Bruins
BOSTON (WHDH) -- In the post season, Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is logging massive minutes and coming up with an equally colossal contribution.
"And that's a tough job to shut down guys like Rick Nash, you can go through the list and to have to shut down those guys and produce at the same time is equally as hard," said Gregory Campbell.
The Bruins captain has racked up a combined 73 minutes of ice time the past two games; a machine like effort -- but even machines need to recharge.
"I don't know if he maybe plugs himself in at night I don't know. It's pretty incredible just to be able to do that. It's obviously a huge credit to him," said Dougie Hamilton.
"When you look back at Game 7 and last night, but we're including overtime in that session as well. He's in great shape. He's got a couple of days to recover; I don't see that being an issue. To be honest with you we don't have a choice," said Head Coach Claude Julien.
But that's exactly how the Bruins captain wants it.
"I'm just trying to help the team as much as I can and whatever coach feel comfortable putting out there, I'm fine with that,” Chara said.
