Bergeron and Malkin go head-to-head
BOSTON (WHDH)--Patrice Bergeron does everything for the Bruins but dropping the gloves though isn't one of them.
“When he gets that riled up it’s usually for a good reason,” said Shawn Thornton.
Although Bergeron versus Malkin may be just as difficult to explain as it was shocking to see.
“It just happened, there’s not much to say about it. There’s not much to look into it. It happened and like I said it was in ther heat of the moment,” Patrice Bergeron said.
A moment that left Bergy a little banged up. A look Shawn Thornton knows all too well.
“We had to do head shots today…” Thornton said.
It's not a realm Bergeron or Malkin for that matter know too well and clearly this was not a fight Don King would promote but the brawl at Consol did have an impact.
“That stuff happens in hockey, tempers flare and 2 guys who don't normally play that style, stuff happens and they both did a good job at answering the bell,” said Brad Marchand.
“When you see him, like I say get that emotionally involved, not that we weren’t, but if you weren't in it probably forces you to be in it at that point,” said Thornton.
