Penguin Pizza changes ale for B's fans
BOSTON (WHDH)-- Penguin Pizza is a popular bar in Brigham Circle, with a not so popular name right now. You can't avoid them. There are penguins everywhere, but the patrons are all about the Bruins.
“It looks like a sweep for me. I got my broom in the truck,” one patron said.
“We do feel slightly traitorous coming to the Penguin but we promise it's only about the pizza,” said Bruins fan, Stephanie Marchetta-Wood.
This bar is always full on game night. This is such a popular place with the regulars they don't hesitate to come watch the game but some were starting to take issue with the ale. They did not want to order penguin ale.
“They said they didn't want a pitcher of the penguin, they wanted a pitcher of the non-penguin beer, so I just put it as Bruins ale,” said Penguin Pizza manager, Pamela O’Brien.
“This is our house brew but for the game tonight we switched it over to Bruins ale,” a bartender said.
“That’s a good idea. Nobody wants to drink a penguin ale,” another patron said.
That makes it much easier to go down.
“Absolutely a winning beer, a champion beer,” a Penguin’s patron said.
“…everyone is laughing at it. Everyone is ordering it so it's all good,” said O’Brien.
They expect to be drinking plenty of Bruins ale tonight hopefully Bruins championship al ale.
